The Panzer IV is a German tank from the Second World War. In the German language it is abbreviated as Pz.Kpfw. IV.
The PzKpfw IV was developed in 1934-1937 and most of them were deployed in 1939, during the Polish Campaign. It had a crew of five: a commander, a driver, a gunner and two ammunition loaders/servicemen to operate the machine-gun mounted on top of the superstructure front plate or replace its worn-out parts. The main armament was a 75 mm KwK 40 L/43 main gun with an effective range of 1,100 metres (1,200 yd). In addition there was an MG34 machine gun mounted on top of the chassis'

The Panzerkampfwagen IV (Pz.Kpfw. IV), commonly known as the Panzer IV, was a German medium tank developed in the late 1930s and used extensively during the Second World War. Its ordnance inventory designation was Sd.Kfz. 161.
The Panzer IV was the most numerous German tank and the second-most numerous German fully tracked armoured fighting vehicle of the Second World War; 8,553 Panzer IVs of all versions were built during World War II, only exceeded by the StuG III assault gun with 10,086 vehicles. Its chassis was also used as the base for many other fighting vehicles, including the Sturmgeschütz IV assault gun, the Jagdpanzer IVtank destroyer, the Wirbelwind self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, and the Brummbär self-propelled gun......
